Texyloop in Australia
Innova International in Heatherton has become the first Texyloop recycling collection depot outside of continental Europe.
December 2008 saw the return of a container carrying PVC materials to Europe for recycling. This was the successful culmination of a 12 month tender and review process by the ACT Government for the removal and replacement of a 22 year old fabric structure built over the Canberra Olympic Swimming Pool.
Universal Fabric Structures (UFS) consulted Innova International to recycle the fabric using the Texyloop process and was awarded the tender as a result of their submission to recycle and innovative design for the new structure.
Dismantling of the site took two days including packing the shipping container. Project life cycle analysis consultants EVEA produced a report confirming Texyloop recycling of PVC based fabrics from Australia a viable environmental alternative to landfill or incineration.
